A Day In the Life: Singapore: Happy New Year!

Wow. I can't believe it's 2009... This year just flewwww by. Last year's Pod rager is still so fresh in my mind that this year's countdown seemed so surreal. Anyway, all of us at Lincoln Lodge (I think there are like 5 or 6 units taken up by SMU students) started the night off at our very own place by the poolside because the manager held us a little Lincoln lodge party (free drinks, free food, free sparklers!) It was great to meet some of the other students living here and this semester at SMU is for sure going to be one hell of a time. Then, at around 10:00pm we taxied it over to Sentosa (Singapore's popular island resort) where the whole island was just party central (until 6am!) It was split into "two party zones--one wet, one dry first ever DJ lighthouse 'mother' of all foam pools" --the top right photo is us at the foam pit and the other one is me and four of my roommates. I think Vincent was taking the picture :-( But I love them all so much and am so grateful to have found such wonderful people to live with!! (from the left: Guillaume from France, Jackie from Canada, Me, Alice from Minnesota, and Henrik from Norway) Vincent is also French but he's from Reunion Island. For those who don't know much about whereabouts that is...google it :) He's the guy in the above picture making the crazy face with foam on his head. teehee. Anyway, there were so many people there it was insane. They had fireworks at the countdown...guest DJ's the whole night...live music at one end, techno, house, rap, r&b, fire eaters, breakdancers, the works. All in all, it was a pretty unforgettable new years. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Of course, by the time we got home at like 4am we were starrrvingg so we topped off the night by ordering a little Micky D's!!! That's right...they have 24 hour delivery here!! mmmmmmmmmm.....
